Lymm Old Students

News in Brief

Richard Mather, who was a pupil at Lymm from 1971 - 76, is enjoying a very successful career in the Army.

Congratulations to John Oulton MBE, who was a pupil at school from 1943 - 48. After completing his time in the Royal Navy, he has since been an athletics coach for both able and disabled athletes. In 2003, in recognition of his contribution to Athletics, he was awarded the MBE. One of his students won a Gold Medal at the Disabled Olympics.

Maimie Fleming, our representative on the School Trustees, keeps us informed of developments at Tyn-y Felin. The premises are to be enlarged further in order to create more revenue to make it self-financing.

The memories of those first School Camps in 1959 , although primitive in many ways, live on!

Maimie, visited one of her daughters (Claire) who is working at a College in Bermuda. She teaches Drama and Social Sciences, as does another old student, Josie Catton (nee Egerton). Claire completed the London Marathon in 2003. Well Done!

A friend of the OS A, Carol Boswell, who is married to Richard Boswell, brother of Rodney and daughter-in law of Gwen Boswell (nee Shaw) completed the London Marathon in April 2004. Carol has joined the Rambling group on many occasions.

Congratulations and Best Wishes to Joe (Anton) Burgess on his re-marriage.

Best wishes for an enjoyable year to Ann Dutton in her year of office as Lady Captain of Helsby Golf Club.
