Lymm Festival 2002
Saturday 29th June to Sunday 7th July

GREAT SUPPORT FOR THIS YEAR'S FESTIVAL

Lymm Festival 2002

The committee of Lymm Festival (28 June - 7 July) are delighted to announce that they have been successful in attracting financial support from companies who have close connections with Lymm.

Linden Homes (North West) Ltd is supporting the Festival for the first time as an acknowledgment of their considerable investment in the community.

JW Lees (Brewery), owners of the Spread Eagle Hotel, have once again provided much needed extra funds in recognition of the enthusiastic support given to the festival activities by the landlords Patrick and Trudy
Martindale. Several events will be taking place at the Spread Eagle during the course of the week.

Hydes Brewery, owners of the Jolly Thresher and the Bull's Head, have also stepped forward. The Bull's Head is due for a major refurbishment which will be undertaken this summer, but it will back in the thick of village life in early autumn

Another generous donation has come from the proprietors of the Rushgreen Service Station. John Parry and Ann Scales are both great supporters of the
festival, acting as a ticket outlet and attending many events. John's daughter Alice, a final year art student at the Manchester Metropolitan University will be showing her most recent work at an exhtibition at the Foundation Restaurant in Lymm during the festival.

As a result of sales of the Lymm Film, creator Alan Williams has also been able to provide some extra support, and Churchill's Dry Cleaners are chipping in with a donation towards the costs of the Bridal Finery
exhibition.

"We are awaiting the results of applications to various grant giving organisations and have already received an award from the Warrington Borough Council's Arts Project Grant scheme for our Creative Writing Workshops, but with more and more calls on available lottery funding and local authority grants, it makes it very difficult to raise the money required to put on
the sort of quality event that Lymm deserves," commented Honor Giles, the festival's Director. "It is obviously very heartening that these companies
recognise that it is a worthwhile cause, and for that we are extremely grateful"

The Friends scheme has already attracted a significant number of members, and the committee hopes that more big-hearted people will step forward with
that extra little bit of support for what promises to be another excellent event.
