20th
June – 4th July
All around Lymm.
Scarecrow trail maps will be available from the Festival box-office,
the Library and several other outlets.
Wurzil Gummidge has come to Lymm this summer and, hopefully, will
be meeting a crowd of his friends. Having already made an appearance
in many rural towns and villages throughout Britain, the Scarecrow
community will be given temporary lodgings by the generous citizens
of Lymm, who, it is hoped, will rise to the challenge of providing
the best possible settings.
This is an opportunity for all the community to demonstrate their
imagination and flair by creating new members of the scarecrow family,
- characters of every description, (unless deemed offensive) and
involved in all sorts of activities. They might be a character from
fiction (e.g. Darth Vader, Goldilocks, Spiderman), working persons
(e.g. a milkman, window-cleaner, builder) or characters portrayed
in amusing situations. The more ‘off-the-wall’, the
better!
Join the fun, and help make an entertaining family event, where
you can create your own member of the scarecrow family and also
enjoy visiting all the others. You can vote for your favourite and
the most popular will receive a prize. Pick up a registration form,
with handy hints on how to construct your scarecrow, from Lymm Library,
shops and pubs in Lymm, or contact Pam Hunter on 01925 758370
